Frankly, I was surprised at how thin the keyboard is, and now I'm pleasantly surprised at the cost of a replacement (especially since I have a heavy touch that wears out key action fast). But my previous iMac keyboard fit perfectly into the concave area underneath my computer table, the thickness of the keyboard supplying just enough uplift and foundation to make the keys easily accessible and the keyboard secure. Apple's new keyboard design is so much more than just good looks. I spend most of the day at my computer, and I can't get over how much more comfortable it is to use this keyboard.
The actual key-press is shorter -- the key travels less distance up and down -- yet, the tactile feedback is such that you don't get the feeling you're using a laptop keyboard. I love the design of this keyboard. As many have mentioned, it is very easy to type on and large enough for regular usage. I do like the keypad as well. One reason I wanted the keyboard for use with my MacBook Air is so that I could do data entry and I have a much easier time with a keypad.
The only reason I wouldn't give this keyboard 5 stars is that the keyboard is just slightly too long for normal sized briefcases. It makes portability difficult.

Simply an amazing keyboard - Apple really got the design and ergonomics right on this device. When you consider that the keyboard is one of the primary ways that you interact with your computer, it really becomes pertinent to have a comfortable and nice keyboard. Big improvement over the prior product and a beautiful design as well!

I've owned 2 of these since they were released. Love the ergonomics and the metal construction. Sometimes keys dont register a touch if i hit the key off-center tho...i think its the shorter-travelling key design that throws me off. A few keys are wearing off their ink as well, particularly the "A" key on both keyboards is going gray.
I'd love to see a macbook pro-style version where the letters illuminate. Then i'd replace my gaming keyboard and only use these apple ones.
