- Hard Drive: The 100 GB hard drive (5400 RPM) is a above average in size for notebook PCs, and its capacity is a welcome size for such a multimedia-centric notebook.
- Processor: This notebook is powered by the 3.33 GHz, hyper-threaded Intel Mobile Pentium 4 processor 548 which rests close to the top of its class in terms of speed (as of June 2005). It provides near-desktop PC performance for your notebook and helps to conserve battery life. It has a 533 MHz front-side bus and 1 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.)
A hyper-threading processor helps a PC to run multiple demanding applications at the same time. This technology enables the processor to execute two threads (a part of a program) in parallel, boosting performance during key high-drain procedures. This results in more efficient software performance (such as faster reaction times in gaming applications) and enhanced multitasking. - Memory: The installed 1024 MB of RAM (2 x 256 MB, PC2700, 333 MHz DDR SDRAM) will help you power through multimedia presentation and heavy-duty spreadsheets. Screen, Graphics and Sound
The A75-S213 has a 15.4-inch XGA display w with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It also provides TruBrite technology, which makes images brighter and more vivid thanks to its anti-glare feature. Video and graphics are powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP card, which delivers strong 3D rendering and shares 128 MB of memory with the processor's RAM memory. The integrated audio card (Realtek ALC250) provides 16-bit stereo sound via the built-in stereo speakers as well as SRS TruSurround XT virtual surround sound.

The A75-S213 has an integrated Atheros 802.11b/g wireless-LAN that supports Atheros SuperG technology, which uses packet-bursting, fast frames, on-the-fly data compression/decompression, and dual-channel bonding to enhance throughput to double that of 802.11g. I picked up a Toshiba Satellite A75 with a 3.2 Pentium 4, 256 megs of RAM, 15 inch monitor, 20 gig harddrive, DVD writer, ATI graphics card and Wifi card. Previously I had an HP Pavilion, which died for no apparent reason while editing photos. The Toshiba, while low on RAM, performs beautifully, be it watching DVDs, roaming for a free hotspot, using the word processor, video editing, or even travelling on the road. I've now owned this model for 1.5 years and yes, I've had problems with overheating, a few windows related errors, and the slight annoyence with loud fans but this is an extrodinary computer. It's processing speed, performance, and reliablity are amazing. The problem doesn't lie with the machine, its with the person, as one has already pointed out.

I've had my Toshiba laptop A75-S229 for less than 2 years. I have a desktop that I use most of the time, the laptop doesn't have a scratch on it, what I'm getting at is the fact that is has very low hours on it. After about a year, maybe less, the thing just started shutting off right after the fans pick up speed sounding like a jet taking off.
